Facts and figures
Up-to-date information for you!
Cetane numbers
The higher cetane number of HVO leads to significantly more efficient combustion compared to fossil diesel. Despite the lower density, there is no additional consumption in practice compared to fossil diesel.
Pollutants
In contrast to fossil diesel, HVO is practically free of sulphur and aromatics. This means that almost no nitrogen oxides and soot particles are produced during combustion. This leads to improved air quality and less pollution for people and the environment.
Frequently asked questions:
Does HVO smell like diesel?
No. HVO is largely odorless in both liquid and gaseous form. No more diesel smell at last!
Can any diesel engine be operated with HVO?
Basically yes. We recommend that you ask your vehicle manufacturer or supplier so that you can be 100% sure. You can find further information on this website.
